EX NIAGARA FALL MUSEUM

EX WILLIAM (BILLY) JAMIESON COLLECTION

Well patinated war dagger ca. 1840. Made of wood from a shipwreck and metal from a shipwreck or obtained by trade.

This important Alaskan War Dagger has a rounded wooden grip and a double edge blade for stabbing rather than cutting.

The pommel is carved into a powerful round face with a mesmerizing expression. The Niagara Falls Museum has stored or displayed this dagger for more than a century.   Therefore, it has been left untouched without any repairs!

THOMAS BARNETT from Birmingham, England founded the NIAGARA FALLS MUSEUM in Ontario in 1827.

WILLIAM JAMIESON was one of Canada’s most renowned dealers of ethnographic antiques. In his early career, Billy was described as the treasure-hunting Indiana Jones with a taste for the bizarre.  His collection included a dozen shrunken heads.  He was a reality TV star of History Channel’s Treasure Trader show.  Billy Jamieson became prominent after purchasing the entire content of the NIAGARA FALL MUSEUM, housing Canada’s oldest ethnographic and natural history collection of seven hundred thousand objects.

This fine and rare NORTHEN ALASKA WAR DAGGER was also part of the NIAGARA FALLS MUSEUM’s collection and later part of WILLIAM JAMIESON’s collection.

The authenticity of the item is 100% guaranteed.
